What we collect

  • When you give pilot feedback: your name, email address, role, school, staff numbers, your answers and, if you agree, a quote we may publish.
  • When you use Beam, our live chat: your messages, any details you choose to give and technical data about your browser.
  • When you browse this site: technical data such as your IP address, device and browser, and, if you accept cookies, the pages you view and how you arrived.

Please do not send us information about individual students or other sensitive information through our forms or live chat.

How we use it and why

UK data protection law requires a lawful basis for each use of your information. These are ours.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced our interests against yours. You can ask us for details of that assessment.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers below, who process it on our instructions, and with professional advisers, our accountants or public authorities where the law requires it.

Teachers Pay Teachers and Tes are independent marketplaces. If you buy from us there, they are responsible for your information under their own privacy policies, and they share with us only what they allow sellers to see.

International transfers

Some of our providers hold information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations, such as those covering the European Economic Area and the UK Extension to the EU US Data Privacy Framework, or by the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum issued by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

How long we keep it

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We ask before we use any cookie that is not essential. If you decline, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Metricool stay switched off. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without using cookies. Our online school on Thinkific asks for your choice separately; if you accept there, it uses Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to measure visits and purchases.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your information
  • ask us to restrict how we use it
  • object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests, and to any direct marketing at any time
  • ask us to transfer information you gave us to another organisation
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent

To use any of these rights, email info@northbeamleadership.com. We will reply within one month. There is usually no charge.

Children

This site and our services are for adults: teachers, school leaders and other professionals. Our classroom materials are used by teachers with their students, but we do not collect personal information from students and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Keeping your information safe

We use reputable providers, secure connections, strong passwords and two-step verification, and we limit access to the people who need it. If a breach affects your information and is likely to put you at risk, we will tell you and the ICO as the law requires.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first at info@northbeamleadership.com so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
